Free University Courses

Many of us dream to study in the top-notch universities like MIT, IIT etc, but only few of us succeed due to many specific reasons like job, children, accessibility etc. But now, you can access the course materials of these top universities for free; thanks to the "world of internet" and the "Open Course Ware" (OCW) movement started by MIT in October 2002. All such course materials which are created by universities and which are shared freely with the world via the internet are known as Open Courses. These courses are on wide variety of topics and are generally available as lecture notes, complete textbooks, audio and video lectures. Below are the links of Open Courses available, just browse through them and may be you will find the most interesting subject that you always wished to study.

1. Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT) has about 1800 courses that cover wide variety of topics from Arts, Architecture, Sciences to Technology and Music.
2. Stanford School of Engineering has the most popular engineering courses -'Introduction to Computer Science' and 'Artificial Intelligence' and 'Electrical Engineering'. In addition to the course access, you can also take quizzes and tests.
3. National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning is a joint venture of Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institute of Sciences. It is being carried out by 7 IITs and IISc Bangalore and has courses related to Engineering field - Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Ocean and Biotechnology.
4. University of California, Berkley has about 100 full courses in audio or video format.
5. Yale University has courses that span the full range of liberal arts disciplines, including humanities, social sciences, and physical and biological sciences.
6. Utah State University has about 82 courses grouped into 20 departments, to name few English, Maths, Biology, Philosophy, Sciences, Economics, Engineering.
7. University of Notre Dame has courses in 21 various departments.
8. University of California, Irvine has courses on various subjects.
9. Tufts University has courses related to dental medicine, medicine, Nutrition Sciences and Policy, Veterinary Medicine and arts.
10. Delft University of Technology has courses related to Microelectronics, Nano Sciences, BioMedical Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Water Management and Sustainable Development.
11. Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health has the popular courses with content related to the public's health.
12. University of California College Prep has courses and content that are aligned to California content standards and are College Board certified.
13. University of Washington has wide variety courses ranging from The American Civil War, Energy, Diet and Weight, Greek Mythology, Gulliver's Travels, Hamlet, HTML Basics, History of Jazz:New Orleans, The American Revolution, Shakespeare's Comedies, Heroic Fantasy:Tolkien to World War II.
